Programs:: Annual Conference: Campus Impact Awards

The CRD Campus Impact Awards recognize the efforts of individuals or teams that have made a significant positive impact on a community college and/or the students it serves.  There are no restrictions on the types of activities that qualify for consideration (e.g. successful advocacy, writing grants, donor solicitation, developing business partnerships). There are four categories for nominations:

Categories

1. Grants Professional – nominee(s) must be a current CRD member whose efforts in the grants area have made a significant impact on the college and/or the students it serves. Nominations should be made in this category if they are based upon securing funds from 1) competitive federal, state or other governmental grantors, 2) federal, state or other governmental appropriations, 3) private foundations (if the grant award process is primarily competitive), 4) corporate or other non-profit foundations and 5) other non-profit organizations (e.g. Rotary, Chambers of Commerce).

2. Private Fundraising Professional – nominee(s) must be a current CRD member whose efforts in raising funds from private donors have made a significant impact on the college and/or the students it serves. Nominations should be made in this category if they are based upon securing funds or expectancies (e.g. planned gifts and bequests) from 1) individuals (living or deceased), 2) private foundations (if the grant award process is primarily relational with the individual grantor or family) and 3) for-profit businesses.

3. Non-Development Professional (faculty, administrator or staff) – nominee(s) must be employees of a CRD-member college or foundation who do not have resource development as a primary responsibility and whose efforts have made a significant impact on the college and/or the students it serves. College presidents or district chancellors are not eligible nominees for this award. Nominations may be made in this category for any type of activity supporting the resource development effort (e.g. writing grants, leading an employee campaign, cultivating donors to a program).

4. Volunteer – nominees cannot be employees of the CRD-member college or foundation and must have made a significant impact on the CRD-member college and/or the students it serves through their efforts (e.g. foundation board members or employees of a partner organization). Nominations may be made in this category for any type of activity supporting the resource development effort (e.g. cultivating or soliciting donors, leading a capital campaign, chairing a special event). This category is NOT based on financial support by the nominee; nominations for financial support of the CRD-member college or foundation should be submitted for the Benefactor Awards.
